DJ ICON
Without doubt, DJ ICON has become an iconic figure in the U.S. dance music industry and beyond. With a career spanning a decade-and-a-half, she has captivated audiences the world over with her signature bass-heavy, vocal-infused, cross-genre Bass Music sound; magnetic stage presence, skillful DJ mixes and productions on Illeven Eleven Recordings. It’s no wonder why she’s been dubbed one of the leading ladies of this domain.
PRESSHA
An active member of the Burning Man community, Pressha’s exposure to the slower tempos and world music sounds of the festival has created in him a driving passion for sharing the beat-centric, glitch-hop sound that is sweeping the West Coast. This DJ’s talents are welcome at camp sound systems all over the playa and in 2009 was asked to play at numerous large sound camps and again in 2010 playing at Bass Camp, Tetris and Camp ?. All the while keeping his own home camp sated with brilliant beats from sunrise to sunset to sunrise, and then some.
Pressha has played along side Donald Glaude, Propa Tingz, Mochipet, Ana Sia, 12th Planet, Ill-Gates, Nit Grit, NastyNasty, Stanton Warriors, Glitch Mob, Simply Jeff, Keith McKenzie, Adam F, Bachelors of Science, Borgore, Reid Speed, Skrillex, Dieselboy, Bare and more. As a regular feature at Seattle’s Decibel Festival, this local favorite has been on the bill with Caspa, N-Type, Mimosa, Heyoka, an-ten-nae, Mike Slott, Megasoid, Mala and Mary Anne Hobbs. With several bookings a week, a full-time school schedule, and bookings with all of dubstep and glitch’s heavy hitters, Pressha is a busy man. His mixes are a world-renowned and each one takes you on a unique journey through soundscapes of new and exciting territory. I suggest downloading a few today.
As one of the pioneers of the un-named, bass-heavy genre in the Seattle community, Pressha will most definitely continue to lay new twists to whatever sound he is playing at the moment, and we will no doubt continue to dance.
